When asked, “What was the original purpose of public education?”, A.I. gave this response:

The original purpose of public education in the U.S. focused on fostering a literate, cohesive, and obedient citizenry to support a new democracy, ensure social order, and provide basic religious instruction.

Since at least 1962, public education has been heavily influenced by secularists. As a result, students are not literate or cohesive, and their obedience has been co-opted into secrecy and rebellion against parents. Of course, democracy means mob rule.

HOW DID WE GET HERE?

One obvious answer lies in the worldview of secular humanism. The ideologies of this religion threatens to turn innocent children into a godless, genderless, enraged monolith. Secularism is a parasite that causes symptoms of mental illness, moral confusion, and self-induced hysteria. Parasitic infestations have three phases: growth, reproduction, and transmission.

The growth of secularism in K-12 education manifests as:

- Social emotional learning (SEL)
- Evolutionary theory
- Ethnic studies (CRT)
- Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE)
- Rainbow flags and gay celebrations on campus
- The acknowledgement and acceptance of every religion but Christianity

The reproduction of secularism in K-12 education manifests as:

- Law enforcement protests during educational hours
- Counselors secretly transitioning students’ gender
- Sex education for kindergarteners
- Children judging their peers by skin color
- School officials referring minors to abortion clinics
- Boys invading girls’ sports and private spaces

The transmission of secularism from K-12 education to society manifests as:

- High school graduates with little to no reading, writing, or math skills
- Increased sexual activity, STDs, and unwed pregnancies among youth
- High abortion rates among women in their 20s
- Low IQ citizens who predominantly vote for Democrats
- Emotional retardation, violence, and lack of personal responsibility
- Suicide and premature death

The average American child, from age 4 to 17, will spend about 14,000 hours in school. Most of these students will undergo secular brainwashing in the form of “academic standards,” “core competencies,” and state testing. Parents have been lulled into a false sense of trust, abdicating their rights and responsibilities to government workers. Even “good” educators (the conservative ones who remain fearfully silent) shouldn’t have unchecked influence over a child’s mental, emotional, or moral development.

SECULARISTS HATE ALL THINGS CHRISTIAN

The pervasive ignorance of secularism explains why people interpret “separation of church and state” to mean Christians can’t pray, read Scripture, or invoke the name of God publicly. Secularism is also why Americans call the United States a “democracy.” The secularist worldview is so morally inferior that it can only be defended by calling opponents racists, white supremacists, fascists, and homophobes.

Below are quotes written by a sleazy secularist in an article titled “A Hate-filled Christian Curriculum, Coming to a District Near You.” This unhinged rant was inspired by the expansion of LifeWise Academy into Deer Valley Unified School District. The Academy’s mission is to “offer Bible education to public school students during school hours” (off campus, mind you).

AZ HOUSE BILL 2266

The demonization of Christianity, prayer, and Bible reading has only escalated as Arizona lawmakers attempt to pass legislation that fortifies First Amendment rights and parental rights in K-12 education. Secularists linked LifeWise to AZ House Bill 2266. They claim bussing children to nearby churches for Bible studies during the school day is harmful to academic communities. But encouraging kids to walk off campus with “F**k ICE” t-shirts during educational hours is okay? Only in the mind of a secularist.

Deer Valley board member and AZ legislator, Stephanie Simacek (D), called Lifewise “a controversial, far-right, religious instruction program.” Regarding HB 2266, the secularist told her constituents she would “continue to oppose bills that do nothing to serve public education.” Essentially, high moral standards, respecting authority, and taking responsibility for one’s actions has no place in taxpayer-funded, government schools.

This reminds me of something someone said about wearing a shoe that fits…

Secularists wear it best.

THE REAL SUCCESS OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The life’s purpose of a secularist boils down to persecuting Christians, opposing common sense legislation, and infiltrating public school systems to spread anti-Christ propaganda through immoral policies and curricula on all grade levels. Secularism is a spiritual, intellectual, and emotional drain on every generation. No child should be entrusted to an institution that’s predominantly run by godless people.

Parents must continue to seek alternative learning methods and regain control over their kids’ education. Don’t let secularism destroy their innocence and corrupt their moral character. Furthermore, taxpayers should keep voting NO on all bonds and overrides. Don’t incentivize sleazy administrators and weak board members to advance a secular agenda. Let the schools close and the buildings be repurposed. The kids will be fine if more parents and silent educators step up.

Public education—especially in Arizona—is a colossal failure. The lie of “separation of church and state” must be eradicated. Steering children back to God is the only way to defeat secularism and defend our Constitutional Republic. Support constitutional legislation like AZ House Bill 2266 and the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA). Support Christian organizations like LifeWise Academy. Most importantly, support parental rights in K-12 education for all American families.

In August 2025, two teachers in the Peoria Unified School District were quietly placed on paid administrative leave as police conducted separate investigations. Months later, on December 18, the State 48 News released explosive findings from a 200-page police report alleging both educators were involved in inappropriate relationships with high school students.

The following details are sourced directly from the police report obtained by the School Board Integrity Project. Anyone can request public records by visiting the City of Peoria Police Department Records page.

The suspects identified in the report are Centennial High School teachers Angela Burlaka and Haley Beck. Both cases have been referred to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for criminal prosecution. As of publication, no felony charges have been filed.

INAPPROPRIATE MESSAGES

According to the report, one of the primary victim’s parents found out that their son was involved with a teacher after “flirty” texts and sexually explicit images and videos were discovered on the juvenile’s phone. When the teen was confronted about the messages, he reportedly admitted to having sex with Beck.

Some time before this discovery, the victim had confided in another relative that two teachers were “inappropriately contacting him,” and one had sent him money via Cash App. Although he didn’t mention Burlaka or Beck by name initially, police later identified them as the two teachers in question. Investigations into the nature and purpose of the cash payments were inconclusive.

Police uncovered a video that was reportedly sent to the victim, which showed a naked woman taking a shower. Detectives said they could not positively identify Burlaka in the video. However, the victim’s relative pointed them to images on Burlaka’s social media account and explained that she believes the photos “match the person she saw in the masturbation video.”

Police interviewed other student witnesses who stated that Beck was often seen “flirting” and being too “friendly” with football players. Witnesses also accused her of “prioritizing her attention” on male students. Additionally, the investigation revealed Beck’s social media account (now private) contained photos and videos of students, possibly without parental knowledge or consent.

The police report said at least three other students may have been involved with Burlaka and/or Beck. Investigators could not definitely say whether the two conspired to lure multiple students into alleged sexual activity. As of publication, no injured parties have come forward and the primary victim has refused to cooperate with investigators.

A PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR

Accusations of Beck “having inappropriate relations” with students appears to go back more than a year, according to the report. During his interview with police, Peoria High School principal Samuel Chagolla said he saw the photo of a “female teacher in a bikini” that was allegedly sent to a student.

After identifying the female’s father by the last name “Beck,” the report said Chagolla spoke with Centennial High School principal Scott Hollabaugh and the athletic director. In response to Chagolla’s findings, they reportedly said, “This is not the first time we’ve had an issue or have had to talk to her.”

The report does not reveal the exact moment Hollabaugh first became aware of complaints about Beck’s alleged inappropriate behavior with students. However, Hollabaugh did share an email with police dated July 2025 wherein the victim’s relative expressed concerns about Beck’s involvement with the teen. Hollabaugh confirmed that “he had spoken to [Beck] about the complaints.”

While searching Beck’s apartment, police found a note in which she refers to the victim as both her “peer” and her “brother.” In the letter, Beck recounts what she characterizes as a two-year “relationship,” claiming the two spent time together in public places and even smoked marijuana together. She concludes with the message, “Even though you never say it back, I love you [and] wish you all the best, always. Love, HB.”

During her police interview, Beck “provided examples of randomly seeing [redacted] while at local restaurants” but denied any planned outings. The report does not provide a formal explanation for the contradiction between the letter and Beck’s account.

Police also discovered over 4,000 text messages between Beck and the alleged victim dated between June 2025 and August 2025. One transcribed message shows the alleged victim referring to Beck as “sugar mommy” and her calling him “sugar baby” after she had sent the victim money for food and personal expenses.

Beck has reportedly denied all allegations, including accusations that she was filmed performing a sex act on the victim.

Burlaka told police that any contact she had with students outside school hours was strictly for educational purposes. She then requested an attorney and declined to answer further questions, including whether she had sent nude videos to students or contacted them for reasons unrelated to school.

There is no indication that Hollabaugh disciplined the teachers for alleged misconduct prior to them being placed on administrative leave.

A Deer Valley USD parent, referred to as “Amy,” contacted my organization to report that her children were questioned about their morning and bedtime routines. It turns out Stetson Hills School administrators had engaged students in an “Attendance Reflection Activity” during lunch on November 6, 2025. Parents weren’t notified about the event until the end of the school day.

Stetson Hills Assistant Principal Kelly Walter wrote in an email:

“Our school utilizes a system called CUTS (Chronically Absent and Truant Students) to proactively identify students who are missing more than 10% of instructional days by the end of the quarter…During the session, students participated in fun discussions about:

• Their current nighttime routines,

• Their current morning routines [and]

• Developing a goal or plan for one small, positive change they could make to improve their attendance moving forward.”

Walter ended the communication by thanking parents for their “partnership and support in encouraging consistent daily attendance.” In her zealousness to combat chronic absenteeism, I think Walter forgot that elementary students are not responsible for transporting themselves to school.

Stetson’s attendance survey can be viewed here. Note that in addition to answering questions about sleep schedules and household activities, students were required to sign the document as if it were a contract between them and the school district.

Amy said her kids were probed about their eating habits and family relationships, but those questions were not included on the survey. She also said her children described feeling anxious and “targeted” during the attendance reflection session.

According to Amy, her children haven’t missed more than a few days since the 2025 school year began, and every absence was excused due to illness or doctor’s appointments. Assistant Principal Walter confirmed that parents only need to notify the school, and doctors’ notes are not required in these instances.

Amy emailed her concerns about the district’s lack of transparency to DVUSD Superintendent Curtis Finch. Instead of responding to Amy, Finch forwarded her email to the School Operations and Safety Coordinator, Valerie Bullis. Bullis claimed the truancy probe was intended to be a “proactive approach in addressing student attendance patterns” and that school administrators were now “reviewing the process.” Meanwhile, Amy insisted that she and other parents she talked to were never informed about the student interrogation “process” to begin with. Amy also believes most parents are not aware of the CUTS program.

Screenshots from the Stetson Hills social media account show educators and other DVUSD schools participating in attendance competitions. Amy said these activities promote unhealthy rivalry among students who are totally dependent on their parents for transportation and life decisions.

Deer Valley taxpayers are using their properties as collateral for failing schools. By passing the 15% override, constituents empowered government employees to keep pushing the boundaries of parental controls as they advance a State-sponsored agenda. “We got the override! We got your money!” was the overarching theme of the November 18 school board meeting.

The Glendale Star quoted Superintendent Finch, stating, “We’re pretty excited that we got the okay from the public to move forward.” When commenting on potential budget cuts, he said, “If it didn’t pass, I would be using a chainsaw, but now I can use the scalpel.” Finch also predicted “another explosion of enrollment in the next three to five years.” Wrapping up a discussion about DVUSD’s successful override campaign, he declared:

“The students are the winners when this happens. The community saw how far we’ve come and responded accordingly. It’s very gratifying for everyone involved.”

Queue the laugh track.

Finch’s million-dollar “scalpel” will never be used to dissect his compensation package, and most promises made during override campaigns are never kept. It’s no secret that Arizona public schools are losing students to the school choice movement. DVUSD’s decision to host intramural attendance games only proves that government education can’t compete with superior learning methods and institutions. Parents are waking up and moving on.

For the record, there’s nothing inherently negative about finding creative and fun ways to encourage classroom attendance. The CUTS program mentioned in Assistant Principal Walter’s email may have attracted some families back to the district. Alas, the planning and execution were botched, and the interrogation activities left some parents feeling gaslighted.

I will never understand why school districts are so opposed to (or ignorant of) parental rights legislation. If you want students to enroll and attend, why wouldn’t you appeal to and listen to parents? If parents want a safe, academic-focused environment that’s free from politics, why not invest in that instead of engaging in a power struggle over their kids? In other industries, when a company loses business, board members and directors will research competitors and come up with ways to recapture the market by providing quality products and services.

This concept is simple when applied to education: If public schools don’t want parents to withdraw their children and go to private schools, then they should do what private schools do. Adopt their academic model and offer it at a lower cost. Stop waving rainbow flags and talking about gender and skin color. Stop asking intrusive questions and forming inappropriate bonds with other people’s kids. Give parents a reason to trust you. Or, is that too much common sense for government folk?

School board elections are not magic. Ideally, we’d like to “get our guy in office,” trust that they have our best interests in mind, and carry on with our lives. This is not reality. More often than not, time reveals that “our guy” will say whatever needs to be said to gain our support and then turn on the dime of sleazy administrators, radical union leaders, and leftist community members. Unfortunately, this pattern emerges even on school boards that many consider as having a “conservative majority.”

Despite all the online drama that erupted over those attendance surveys, I was the only one who attended and spoke about it at the last Deer Valley school board meeting. Digital outrage accomplishes nothing in real time, and virtual group therapy has no power to shift this situation. DVUSD is corrupt. The school board is dysfunctional, the superintendent is shady, and educators are lacking real leadership. Now that they have your money, what’s their incentive to do right by your children? Who will hold them accountable, if not you?

On November 19, 2025, a student was reportedly raped after being lured into an unlocked classroom at Orangewood Elementary School.

Arizona’s Family headline says, “Sex offender allegedly posed as doctor, assaulted young girl at Phoenix school.” Orangewood has a physical address in Phoenix but is governed by the Washington Elementary School District, which is headquartered in Glendale.

According to the report, an unnamed employee was placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues.

During the November 20 school board meeting, one parent from Orangewood stated that he was “disappointed” and “pissed off” about how WESD handled the situation. He said he received an email at noon on November 19 announcing that the school was locked down. The next morning, around 8 am, he received another email that said a student had been attacked. He learned from sources outside of WESD that the student was raped on school grounds.

Another parent wept as she expressed how her trust in the district had been broken due to the lack of communication and failure to follow safety procedures. She said she always shows identification before entering a school building and did not understand why that protocol wasn’t followed this time.

WESD’s public statement says, in part:

On Wednesday, November 19, Orangewood administration was made aware of an unauthorized male on campus…Upon investigation, it was determined that the individual gained access behind a student who was buzzed in through the main entrance. He was on campus for approximately 10 minutes, and during that time, he made inappropriate contact with a student.

Although Open Meeting Laws bar school board members from directly responding to public comments, none of the representatives formally acknowledged the victim or her family during their speeches.

WESD Board President Kyle Clayton—one of five board members who voted to terminate student-teaching contracts with a Christian university—claimed they were unable to comment due to an open investigation.

The report on Average ACT Test Scores By State Graduating Class of 2025 shows that Arizona public schools are still failing our students. A Legal Process highlighted the results, stating:

From the data on the class of 2025, college admissions officers and future employers can reasonably conclude that if the applicant is a graduate of Arizona schools, more likely than not, they cannot proficiently read, write, perform math, or understand science in comparison to their peers.

A Legal Process also noted that a majority of Arizona’s 2025 graduates failed to meet one core academic benchmark. “55% of Arizona’s students can graduate high school and still not demonstrate college-ready level of competency in a single core academic subject matter,” the publication said.

World Population Review published Public School Rankings by State 2025, which shows Arizona dead last overall in four categories: K-12 performance, school funding and resources, higher education quality, and safety. This is corroborated by Consumer Affairs, which rated Arizona number one on its list entitled “Which states rank poorly for education?”

Arizona wastes between $10,000 and $14,000 per student, depending on the source. Meanwhile, the average ESA is estimated between $6,000 and $9,000 for students in 1st through 12th grade. Current trends also reveal that K-12 families are ditching government education at an impressive rate. Even if these calculations are off by 10 decimal points, my conclusion remains the same: The A-F School Letter Grade classification system is a complete joke, and school choice is the one good thing happening in Arizona education.

Superintendents are a financial burden for taxpayers

On September 21, 2025, the Goldwater Institute published a report titled “The Hidden Ways Arizona School Superintendents Are Paid. In the opening paragraph, it states:

Arizona school district superintendents receive high salaries. Yet, the true scale of that pay is often obscured by a triangle of complex contract provisions that school boards, and the superintendents themselves, deliberately design to mask the full measure of compensation from taxpayers…

These same school districts go to great lengths to block access to superintendent contracts—in some cases even from their own board members—shielding from the public how tax dollars enrich those who often are their community’s highest-paid public employees.

The Institute requested more than 40 superintendent contracts—official records that should be accessible to the general public—only to receive the documents after four months of repeated requests and warnings of potential litigation. The following information is also sourced from their report:

• Not including health insurance or pension costs, Arizona superintendents’ base salaries average $215,000 a year, while taxpayers are charged up to $490,000 per superintendent after accounting for “lucrative perks.”

• In addition to pension benefits, several school districts are double-charging taxpayers for superintendents’ retirement packages.

• Taxpayers are funding superintendents’ personal and vacation leave to the tune of 15 weeks off, when combined with school holidays. When vacation days are unused, superintendents receive a payout in the form of additional compensation.

Goldwater rightly called attention to Tolleson Union High School District Superintendent Jeremy Calles, who makes off with roughly $500,000 a year. Although Tolleson ranks as the 16th largest district in the state, Calles earns at least $100,000 more than any other Arizona Superintendent. Not surprisingly, he was accused of financial misconduct and, according to ABC 15, the auditor general’s investigation into Calles is expected to be completed by January 2027.

Notably, Calles also stands accused of inflating enrollment numbers, loaning $25 million to the Isaac School District, and allowing one teacher to resign with full benefits after complaints that the former employee had an inappropriate relationship with a student. Regardless, Calles appears to have an explanation for everything. And, despite the embarrassing controversy, he still finds half a million reasons to show up for work.

In his October 2025 superintendent message, Calles declared:

“There are so many good things happening [in] our district right now that it is difficult to put them all into one newsletter…Our letter grades continue to rise…Success is not without consequence. If we are going to be the best district in the state, then we cannot get there by trying to do what everyone else is doing; we have to innovate.”

He signed off by stating that how Tolleson residents respond to a bond and override this November will “reveal how the community feels about the direction of the district.” I know how I would vote if I lived in Tolleson—it’s the same way I’m voting in Peoria.

Business as usual?

If you’re anything like me, you’re a fish out of water when it comes to district finance. Simple is the only way I know how to be. Thus, maintenance and overrides (M&O) allow school districts to exceed their budget for salaries and daily operations by 15% in most cases. M&O’s are marketed to the public as a means to “enhance student safety and special education programs.” School districts often promise teachers higher pay or warn them about pay cuts, which usually leads to strong support for overrides from radical teachers’ unions.

Tax increases are presented in fractions and decimals and crumbs, instead of the sum total. Consequently, landowners must research their property value before they can know the full size of their “fraction.” Just in case someone is thinking it: the government shutdown has nothing to do with the financial conditions in Arizona schools. Most districts have been spending 15% more than their budget for many years, and it’s obvious that district leaders expect taxpayers to continue this tradition.

In August 2025, AZ Free News reported:

Despite a 5% drop in district school enrollment since 2019, Arizona’s public-school districts have continued to expand facilities, increase capital spending by 67% to $8.9 billion, and boost transportation costs by 11.3% to $561.2 million, even as eligible bus riders plummeted by 45%...The fastest-shrinking districts have increased capital spending the most, with 20% of districts (serving 73% of students) receiving 81% of capital funding.

Let’s be real: Taxpayers are not investing in gifted programs or sponsoring all-day kindergarten. This, my fellow proletariats, is what you call a bailout.

Surprisingly, several conservative board members have fallen in line with overpaid, agenda-driven administrators to push for excessive spending. No government problem has ever been solved by throwing more money at it—Arizona schools are no exception. The root word of conservative is “conserve,” which means to safeguard, protect, take care of, sustain, and prolong. A 15% override in our current climate of failing public schools does not protect or sustain taxpayers—it feeds a system of corruption.

Rather than tell Arizonans how to vote in this election, I will refer you back to the information covered in this post. I encourage parents, property owners, and slighted educators to use sound judgment at the ballot box. Remember, the most basic definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.

Again, I’m no mathematician. But I’m willing to believe that at least a significant portion of the funds required to increase teacher salaries, enhance special needs programs, and implement cutting-edge safety plans can be found in the bank accounts of every district’s highest-paid employee.

Transgenderism is a false ideology that says humans can “transition” from one gender/sex to another, or identify as something else on an imaginary spectrum. Transgenderism (the T in LGBT) is a dangerous lie that breeds perversion, mental illness, and self-harm. Even some LGB community members reject the rainbow activism that’s ravaging America’s youth. Not everyone is on board with waving a Pride flag and marching naked in the streets, as leftists would have us believe.

Although Scripture opposes alternative lifestyles, believers can respectfully disagree with adults’ choices while fighting against a common enemy of transgenderism in upcoming generations. Conservative LGB individuals are actually the “low-hanging fruit” of the Great Commission and legitimate revival. Unfortunately, though, many Christians are too passive, judgmental, or biblically illiterate to effectively confront sin while winning souls. We settle for inviting the lost to a building and exposing them to watered-down preaching instead of ushering them into the Kingdom directly. Nobody should have to wait until Sunday morning to hear the gospel.

Transgenderism in public schools

Remember the 2021 landmark “transgender” assault case in Loudoun County Public Schools? LCPS board meetings erupted with angry parents—including the enraged father of the first rape victim—after learning that males were allowed in female bathrooms. LCPS covered up the sex crime by transferring the cross-dressing boy to another school, where he attacked and nearly killed another girl. Despite a special grand jury finding LCPS officials liable in both incidents, they continued to implement and enforce DEI policies and practices across the district.

As of September 16, 2025, LCPS was one of five Virginia school districts under investigation by the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) for violating Title IX laws. Female students are not the only ones at risk of being violated on school grounds. In fact, the initial OCR report cited LCPS’s failure to properly investigate harassment complaints from boys who encountered female classmates in male-designated spaces. The OCR Acting Secretary was quoted as stating, “‘Loudoun County’s adherence to radical gender ideology has repeatedly placed students in harm’s way.’”

Truly, LCPS is a prototype for systematically destroying the lives of K-12 students and families.

The evils of transgerderism also spread to Arlington Public Schools when a repeat sex offender exposed himself to female students at the Washington-Liberty High School pool. According to Fox News, Arlington Superintendent Francisco Duran sent a letter to parents, claiming that the predator “was not present during school hours and that the pool has a separate entrance [from] the school.” Duran also reportedly declared that his district “will continue to foster an inclusive community for all, including [individuals] who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community.”

In July 2025, SCOTUS decided by a 6-3 vote that parents in Montgomery County Public Schools could opt their children out of LGBTQ+ lessons. This is good news for parents everywhere! A press release from the National Constitution Center said the parents sued MCPS “after the board changed its prior policy of sending parental notifications when materials such as Pride storybooks were discussed in class.” Essentially, MCPS violated the First Amendment rights and religious freedoms of parents who want to control how and when sexual content is introduced to their elementary-aged children.

Something is terribly wrong in a nation where adults prey on prepubescent children’s bodies, where kindergartners participate in mock gay wedding ceremonies, and “rainbow counselors” are vying for increased, unspervised access to students. It’s especially alarming when government workers like this former Peoria Unified employee believe they have a right to engage minors in sexual and “transgender” discussions without parental knowledge or consent.

Calderone (d. 1998), the first female medical director at Planned Parenthood, SIECUS claims to “advocate for transformative public policies, build robust cross-movement coalitions…[and ensure] sex education drives social change.” In the early 2000s, SIECUS intensified its efforts to advance sex education standards and influence federal and state laws, as well as local policies.

This points to a deeper sickness in society, and it reveals how far rainbow activists have driven us over the edge of sanity. In just one generation, we went from recognizing LGBTQ+ “rights” to full-on lawfare and persecution of heterosexuals and Christians. We have a whole month designated to gay pride and dozens of sexuality “awareness” days. Females are undergoing double mastectomies and reconstructing their chest to appear more masculine (“top surgery”) while males are castrating and reconstructing their genitals to function like female anatomy (“bottom surgery”). Even without surgeries, the Dr. Frankenstein pediatricians are prescribing cross sex hormones and puberty blockers, knowing that these chemicals can sterilize and permanently disfigure growing bodies.

I’m not arguing whether body dysmorphia or gender dysphoria are real diagnoses. Regardless, there’s no legitimate data that supports treating these conditions in children with chemical castration drugs, elective surgeries, or name and pronoun swapping. “Gender affirming care” is evil at every phase. Public schools (and increasingly some private schools) are the battlefield, as leftist board members, administrators, educators, and staff position themselves as the enemy of parental rights. Thankfully, we are winning in the courts, and thousands of children will never undergo “transgender” medical malpractice! Still, parents must remain vigilant in the ongoing warfare to reclaim moral authority in their children’s lives.

The demise of transgenderism

Everyone who believes they’re living in the wrong body is eternally disconnected from their Creator (Gen. 1:27-28). Transgenderism is a dangerous delusion that seeks to medicate, mutilate, and suspend reality for temporary issues that are resolved 80% of the time by simply going through puberty. K-12 families should reconsider state-funded education to avoid sacrificing the other 20% on the altar of identity crises. If we want American society to thrive, we must operate in accordance with objective truth and the biblical prescription for human sexuality.

No one has ever “transitioned” their gender. No one ever will. And just so we’re all clear—the rainbow has seven colors, not six. God created the rainbow after wiping sinful human beings off the earth in a catastrophic Flood (Gen. 9). To avoid the wrath of God, “transgender” activists would do well to heed the warning in Matthew 18:1-6.

It is time for transgenderism to die.

Feature: Temecula Valley USD Forces Religious Accommodations On Female Students

On September 3, 2025, students and parents in the Temecula Valley Unified School District staged a walkout to protest the district’s proposed policy for transgender students. The event was in response to reports of a biological male, who identifies as female, accessing girls’ locker rooms during P.E. class. According to one source, the school board voted 4-1 to table two measures that would require students to seek religious or mental health accommodations to avoid sharing facilities with the opposite sex. TVUSD’s Board Policy 5145.31: Religious or Mental Health-Related Accommodation says:

In accodance with California Education Code section 221.5…the District shall provide access to facilities, including bathrooms and locker rooms, consisten with a student’s gender identity, regardless of the gender listed on a student’s records. This includes access to menstrual products available in all women’s restooms, all-gender restrooms, and at least one men’s restroom.”

Catalina Foothills School District Bans Homeschool Student

On September 3, 2025, the Catalina Foothills School District made headlines after an ESA (Empowerment Scholarship Account) student was banned from joining a sports team. News 4 Tucson reported, “A 15-year-old homeschooled girl from [CFSD]…has been denied participation on the Catalina Foothills High School cheerleading team, despite initially being told she could join.” The district apparently reversed its decision after discovering the student’s family used the state’s ESA program. According to the ESA parent handbook:

Empowerment Scholarships may be used to pay for individual classes and extracurricular programs provided by public district schools, public charter schools, [and] public career technical education districts…keep in mind that public schools have descetion on whether to accept ESA students for such classes or extra-curricular programs.

[SUSD] is under criticisim from parents and community members over a BrainPOP lesson taught to elementary students that compares the struggles of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American military aviators, to those of LGBTQ+ service members….[B]acklash [was] due to its incusion of a call to action and a cartoon depiction of a newspaper headlines reading ‘LGBT Welcome in the Military’ and showing protestors with a rainbow banner outside the White House.

Cartwright Board President Lydia Hernandez and her daughter, Board Member Cassandra Hernandez—who may be breaking Arizona state law by sitting together on the dais—claim they were falsely accused and the district never took place. If Peoria Unified residents were skeptical about students being brainwashed with diversity, equity, and inclusion ideologies, rewatching the August 28, 2025, school board meeting should remove all remaining doubts.

Current students delivered a majority of the 63 public comments against the cancellation of DEI-infused performing arts programs. The only problem is that these programs were never slated to be eliminated. Listen to PUSD school board members’ comments here.

A passionately misinformed parent created a Change.org petition claiming that the PUSD school board planned to cut ties with the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO). Unfortunately, this parent took no initiative in contacting the board before circulating the petition. The parent also failed to direct activism efforts toward those organizations that practice discrimination against white students. It would have been great for the kids to bombard them with calls, emails, and demands to remove the racist policies from their websites.

Those who have actually followed the 2025 school board meetings understand that a majority of the board is working to eradicate DEI from school programs in compliance with President Trump’s Executive Order. Since the Department of Education prioritized the order, why wouldn’t school districts follow suit to protect federal resources? PUSD board members did their due diligence in contacting the Arizona Department of Education and consulted their lawyer in a closed session to ensure they weren’t jeopardizing Title II funding by renewing the agreements.

AZ State Superintendent Tom Horne’s administration at the Department of Education and PUSD Superintendent K.C. Somers were reportedly in favor of keeping the programs despite the fact that these DEI-drive organizations are defying federal mandates. NDEO’s racial equity statements are currently parked behind information walls. Internet archives from 2020 reveal that the Advisory Board Director and CEO both met with equity consultants and agreed that NDEO should undergo a diversity audit to “help provide a roadmap for organizational and programmatic changes over the next few years, as NDEO embodies its commitment to becoming an anti-racist organization.” Their statement on social justice can be viewed below.

One leftist who instigated the PUSD protest was Washington Elementary School District Board President Kyle Clayton. In 2023, Clayton was one of five board members who voted to terminate an 11-year relationship with Arizona Christian University due to the college’s stance on traditional marriage. At that time, Clayton—who identifies as an LGBT community member—said he was worried that Christian student-teachers would proselytize his children and make them feel bad about having two dads. It didn’t matter that ACU had never received a single complaint like this in 11 years.

Past board members in Clayton’s district signed anti-racism and LGBTQ+ affirming resolutions. The youngest WESD students are barely potty-trained. Let that sink in. Clayton willingly discriminates against people who believe in God and disagree with his lifestyle choices. This is the definition of bigotry. Clayton is not the kind of person who should be leading an elementary school district. WESD residents should be asking how and why radical, anti-Christian activists are sitting on their school board. Furthermore, why is there no conservative currently running for his seat?

Ultimately, the PUSD school board protest made the adult activists look a bit foolish. Board Member Becky Proudfit—who historically supported DEI for students—clarified that the programs were “not in danger of being cut” but that the district endeavored to operate “in the bounds of legality.” She also reiterated that Title II funding is not a permanent solution and encouraged every speaker to contact the noncompliant organizations (as the petition starter should have done). Board Member Janelle Bowles—who is strongly against DEI— wholeheartedly agreed with Proudfit’s sentiments.

I want to say welcome aboard the common sense, Trump Train, Proudfit! Conservatives could use your vote on key, controversial, and moral issues going forward.

Although the students performed well during public comments, it was sad and exhausting to see so much misguided passion and wasted energy coming against leaders who are all working in their favor. Even conservative board members voted to keep programs with DEI components—albeit Board President Heather Rooks vehemently denounced EdTA’s racist ideologies, and another board member motioned to approve the programs with an attestation as part of their agreement with PUSD.

It’s a shame that the adults who gaslighted the children and influenced this demonstration lacked the foresight to protest the culprits causing the federal funding dilemma. If you’re going to encourage students to engage in activism, at least point them in the right direction. Of course, theatre, dance, music, and other artistic expressions provide students with an enriching experience and some lucrative post-secondary school opportunities.

Nevertheless, K-12 students don’t need to learn how to be “anti-racist” while playing a wind instrument. Gender identity is not a prerequisite for memorizing and delivering well-executed lines. And although the good Lord graced His black and brown people with more rhythm, white students shouldn’t be cut from recitals just because they’re born with melanin deficiency. Why any board member, superintendent, parent, or educator would advocate for DEI is beyond the comprehension of those who love all children the same, regardless of their ethnic background.

A final word to DEI champions: You would do best to listen to conservative black people instead of emotionally inserting yourselves into historical civil rights conflicts that don’t concern you. No one asked white liberals to fight battles or take on identity-based issues that didn’t affect their community 250 years ago. If leftists want to protest something, there is plenty of hatred directed at white, heterosexual, Christian conservatives today. People like me are doing just fine. We don’t need any handouts. The world would be a better, safer, more sane place if the adults on the self-righteous left took some time to study the true definition of diversity.

I’ve looked in the face of many disappointed residents who told me they moved to the West Valley so their children could be educated in the Peoria Unified School District. To say these families are experiencing buyer’s remorse is an understatement. One wouldn’t have to search beyond PUSD’s current administration to grasp why the district is on a path of destruction.

PUSD basketball coach and volunteer teacher Patrick Battillo—better known by his fanatic alter ego, Mr. ORNG—was recently arrested on allegations of soliciting lewd photos and videos from students with intentions to sell the images. Teacher Holly Holgate further betrayed the victims by tipping off Battillo after they came to her for help.

Battillo, who pleaded not guilty to luring a minor for sexual exploitation and sex trafficking, was reportedly employed by PUSD for five years. Holgate, who’s charged with hindering prosecution and failure to report child abuse, has been employed for over 20 years. A public records request would clarify whether these inappropriate and criminal acts against students were a first-time offense for either party. I have my doubts.

Ironically, Battillo replaced former basketball coach William Roberts III, also charged with sex crimes against PUSD students. Unlike Battillo, Roberts was allowed to resign amid the controversy and subsequently pleaded not guilty to all charges. Roberts—who was investigated for abusing another minor before moving to Arizona—was acquitted after claiming he only had sex with a student after their 18th birthday. Battillo’s victims are said to be 17 and under.

I find it hard to believe PUSD officials knew nothing about the out-of-state investigation. And although the PUSD Governing Board voted unanimously to fire Battillo during the April 25, 2024, board meeting, I imagine this was mainly in response to public pressure. Not only were several press organizations crawling all over the district since Battillo and Holgate made headlines, but the NAACP also descended upon PUSD at the April 11 board meeting (this spectacle confirmed, to me, the victims were black).

PUSD Board Member Heather Rooks formally apologized to the victims and their families and requested (but was not seconded) to have a closed discussion about why the principal at Peoria High School—where Battillo and Holgate worked—was quietly placed on paid administrative leave after the arrests. Perhaps PUSD is looking for someone to blame instead of owning its repeated failures to protect students from pedophiles on its payroll.

Seriously, what are the odds that two men hired in the same role would end up sexually abusing students? How many staff members knew something was “off” about Roberts, Battillo, and Holgate but never spoke up? And exactly where is PUSD sourcing its pool of applicants anyway!?

MARJOR UPDATE ON “MR. ORNG”

The Peoria Unified School District is a dangerous place for children.

K-12 superintendents are the CEO of public schools, spearheading a cabinet of professionals who manage district resources and implement safety and academic programs. Superintendent qualifications may include a doctorate of philosophy (Ph.D.) or education (Ed.D.) and some experience in finance, communications, and organizational leadership.

Superintendents are paid exorbitant salaries topping close to $1 million, depending on the district size. This amount does not include performance bonuses, work vehicles, mobile devices, or lavish vacation packages—er, I mean, “out-of-state professional development conferences.” Whether superintendents do good or evil, employment agreements stipulate that they receive full compensation and benefits, largely at the taxpayers’ expense.

K-12 superintendents abuse their power

Arizona public schools are home to some of the most ethically challenged and morally questionable high-level administrators. K-12 superintendents across the Valley primarily care about aesthetics and the “business of the district.” Below is an incomplete list of superintendents with controversial reputations…and the elected officials who bow to their almighty paper-pushing agenda.

Newly hired Higley USD Superintendent David Loutzenheiser now sits on the dais with governing board members, leaving his cabinet on the floor. This arrangement was approved by the purple-haired board president, Amanda Wade, who once advocated for striking the word “immoral” from teacher-student communication policies. Radical board member Tiffany Schultz—who once declared that professional dress codes “sexualize children’s bodies”—backed Wade’s decision to disrupt the chain of command. No one but Loutzenheiser benefited from this stunt. He set a bad precedent for what’s to come. Read more in AZ Free News.

Earlier this year, a Cartwright Elementary School District resident sued two board members for nepotism, citing A.R.S. 15-421. Cassandra Hernandez (elected at age 19) is the daughter of board president and state representative Lydia Hernandez (D). Despite using different addresses on their campaign applications, constituents cried foul and called for their resignations. The Hernandezes led a charge to install the disgraced former Maricopa County Superintendent Steve Watson as district superintendent. Watson is accused of fraud and leaving behind an infestation of financial deficits, lawsuits, and dysfunction in the county office. CESD residents have no reason to expect Watson will leave their district better than he found it.

Deer Valley USD residents constantly complain across social media about Superintendent Curtis Finch’s dismissive “leadership” style. Residents are also suspicious of Finch’s camaraderie with board president Paul Carver, who once told a room full of conservatives that Finch is the best superintendent in the state. Both men support a twice-failed ballot measure that would allow the district to exceed its budget. Finch defended the 15% override, stating: “The anti-public school movement is growing here in Arizona, which is a crime against humanity.” Whether or not good things are happening in DVUSD is up for interpretation, but declining enrollment numbers are the telltale sign of a district in freefall. Go, parents!

No list of sketchy superintendents is complete without Scottsdale USD’s Scott Menzel. He is a freak show in his own right, accounting for the majority of the district’s media exposure. Menzel is widely known for shaming white people who don’t feel guilty about their skin color. Before vacating their seats, debased board members Zach Lindsay, Libby Hart-Wells, and Julie Cienawski extended Menzel’s contract through 2025. Under his “leadership,” SUSD chartered more student-led sexuality clubs, adopted an anti-police curriculum, and circulated hundreds of pornographic books in school libraries. As a result, the Arizona School Administrators organization proudly named Menzel the National Superintendent of the Year in 2024 (obviously, this title is reserved for clowns).

Peoria USD has a slightly better handle on its administration problem since board president Heather Rooks removed Superintendent K.C. Somers from the dais. This establishes a clear separation of employer and employee while respecting the expertise each brings to the district. Unfortunately, though, Somers is developing a reputation for operating in subtle forms of manipulation and subversion, as if he’s trying to sabotage the board members he can’t control. I once attended a meeting where Somers yowled at board members when they ripped off the COVID-19 funding band-aid. Interestingly, before coming to Arizona, Somers was the superintendent of a Colorado school district steeped in scandal and cover-up. He would do well to note that PUSD residents won’t sit for that.

(Dis)honorable mentions

Tolleson Union HS Superintendent Jeremy Calles morally and financially bankrupted his district. Former Mesa Public Schools Supt. Andi Fourlis oversaw an untold number of social gender transitions without parental knowledge. Tucson USD Supt. Gabriel Trujillo encouraged and attended a student-led drag show on campus, even after one teen was sexually abused by a high school counselor who organized the first event. Chandler USD Supt. Frank Narducci declared a “week of kindness” and distributed 9-1-1 stickers after unchecked bullying led to one student’s murder and another student’s suicide. There’s more, but we’re out of time.

Those who can’t get elected apply for high-power jobs. Most K-12 superintendents have no campaign grit and no winning personality. Thus, they depend on compromised board members to execute their agenda. Superintendents don’t represent the whole community—they represent the educated community. They may be intellectual experts, but they don’t swear an oath to the U.S. Constitution, and they are not the final governing authority.

The board of education—elected officials who report to taxpayers—hires the superintendent, and they ultimately decide what to approve or reject. No one is demanding perfection. Arizona families simply want integrity, transparency, and common sense. K-12 community members who experience dissatisfaction with bloated, overcompensated administrative teams should call, email, request meetings, alert the media, and speak at school board meetings. When superintendents refuse to operate within the scope and ability of their job description, expose them.

Do Christian/conservative teachers have any responsibility to restore order in our public schools? Aren’t they on the frontlines of steering young minds and upholding ethical standards in the classroom? Why don’t we see more exposure of subpar curricula and corrupt policies that fail to protect educators’ constitutional rights at work?

Will this school year be any different, or will Arizona teachers maintain the status quo?

Jessica Tapia’s Story

Jessica Tapia is an alumna and former employee of Jurupa Unified School District (JUSD). She graduated from Jurupa Valley High School, secured a position in the district, and eventually landed her dream job as a high school P.E. teacher.

Tapia loved her career and her students, but she loved God foremost. And her faith would soon be tested.

Six years into her career, some JUSD students decided to research Tapia and discovered Christian/conservative posts on her social media page. The juveniles reported their findings to district officials, who conducted an internal investigation. Tapia was placed on administrative leave and admonished to hide her online profile. As a condition of employment, she would also have to agree to use students’ preferred names and pronouns, even without parental consent.

If Tapia complied with JUSD’s policies—including allowing mentally ill boys to access girls’ locker rooms—she would keep her compensation package and enjoy acceptance among her peers. Otherwise, she faced serious and permanent consequences. Thankfully, Tapia not only believed in the unchanging truth that God created male and female. She was also willing to defend her faith and freedom of speech on school grounds.

Tapia was fired from her dream job, and the woke mob demanded her head on a platter. In a moment of truth, Tapia lost nearly everything she worked hard to achieve, and her reputation was now tarnished. JUSD reprimanded her for unprofessional conduct and accused her of publishing “racist, offensive, and disrespectful” content. No doubt, the most painful experiences came in the form of separating from her students and watching colleagues turn their backs.

This would be a sad story if it ended here.

Tapia knew her rights and filed a lawsuit against JUSD. Turns out firing a teacher who refused to lie to students and families is not only morally reprehensible, but it’s also illegal. After a long battle with many ups and downs, stretching and testing of her faith, Tapia finally won! JUSD settled with Tapia for $285,000 and another $75,000 for her attorney fees. She’s now one of America’s leading advocates for teachers and parental rights in education.

When JUSD violated Tapia’s First Amendment rights, she pushed back. When dangerous transgender policies contradicted her faith—and put female students at risk—Tapia refused to comply. When following orders suddenly meant hiding vital information from parents, she said no. Tapia didn’t cower in fear, take a bribe, or ignore the situation altogether. Instead, she chose to do the hard thing. The right thing.

What’s your story?

SCHOOL board members are elected officials who swear an oath to uphold the United States Constitution. Protecting teachers is their responsibility when it comes to drafting and voting on district policies. Administrators should not manipulate or control this process. Furthermore, school districts don’t have the legal right or moral authority to give ultimatums or blackmail employees into submission. It’s time teachers say, “Enough is enough.”

Transgender ideology is a dangerous lie and a mental illness that shouldn’t be imposed on anyone. Still, K-12 educators often conceal their Christian beliefs to avoid backlash and discrimination. These are the “don’t rock the boat” types. It’s also possible that some teachers are simply unaware or unbothered by high-profile issues on campus. These are the “ostrich” types.

For the sake of moral clarity, consider the following real-life scenarios that also contribute to the degradation of our public education system.

We currently have teachers who, for whatever reason, purposely pass unprepared students on to the next grade level. Rebellious teachers hide inappropriate books in their classrooms and read filth to children behind parents’ backs. An increasing number are perpetrating or ignoring signs of sexual, physical, mental, and emotional abuse. Public schools are overflowing with activists disguised as teachers whose sole mission is to advance union agendas.

I say, enough is enough.

Of course, there are a host of problems that educators shouldn’t be blamed for, including:

• overspending, mismanagement, and corruption at the district level

• excessive classroom sizes

• laxed or nonexistent disciplinary policies

• the expectation of training fellow teachers without compensation

• submitting to self-important, intimidating administrators (many of whom don’t even like children)

These hardships don’t go unnoticed by parents, community members, and board members who share educators’ concerns. Nevertheless, Tapia’s story is a prototype, a demonstration of boldness that highlights every teacher’s responsibility to respond with moral integrity and conviction at all times.

It’s simple: Set and keep professional boundaries. Respect students and safeguard their innocence. Be straightforward with parents and never lie to save face. Refuse to be intimidated or comply with unconstitutional policies. Don’t quit in the heat of the battle. Know your rights. If you experience legitimate discrimination on school grounds, consult legal counsel and file a complaint.

Teachers shouldn’t be discouraged when criticisms are ignored and questions go unanswered. Those with the most power are typically the least compelled to solve problems that don’t immediately affect them. Oftentimes, negative publicity is the only way to disrupt the status quo. To be sure, nothing will change if good teachers “play nice,” remain silent, or walk away. You can’t outrun the madness in government schools—you must find the backbone to confront the madness head-on.

Tapia’s testimony aligns with a theme throughout the Bible: God rewards obedience and courage; He hates rebellion and cowardice. Tapia’s story is a provocation for teachers to blow the whistle and stand on truth regardless of the consequences. Even if you’re not particularly religious, your First Amendment rights don’t end where bad district policies begin.

This school year can be different than years past. It just takes one good teacher to find their voice and lead the way.

To hold a mock wedding for kindergartners or not to hold a mock wedding for kindergartners, that is the question.

It’s 2025. Everyone knows ‘Q’ (as in LGBTQ) stands for “queer” or “questioning.” These terms describe people with unnatural attractions or one who’s confused about their sexual identity. Q and U weddings for 5-year-olds may seem innocent, but in reality, sexual predators posing as PreK-12 employees are working overtime to corrupt our youth.

DVUSD says Q and U are “partners”

Highland Lakes School (PreK-8) in the Deer Valley Unified School District recently hosted a kindergarten mock wedding. Some will watch the video and see kids “playing dress up” while learning the alphabet. The rest of us have researched the matter and find these adult-inspired events inappropriate for children.

There’s nothing overtly “gay” about this ceremony, if you ignore two things: 1) Despite the children posing as heterosexual couples, the officiant only refers to them as “partners” and never “husband and wife”; 2) Nearly all the Qs and Us are decorated in rainbow colors.

Rather than use platonic relationships like parent-child, siblings, or best friends, Highland Lakes teachers and administrators felt marriage was the most appropriate way to introduce these letters to young minds. Why?

DVUSD consulted the Ben’s Bells Project for this shindig. Ben’s Bells is the quintessential snowflake organization that exists to “create a culture of kindness.” Their “Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity [DIE] Statement” says:

Part of the practice of kindness is doing the work to ensure a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community space and workplace…We’re firm in our stance that equitable treatment for everyone is a crucial aspect of kindness and that only diverse and inclusive spaces represent the true scope of what it means to do kindness work.

(Trans)lation: Kindness means supporting everyone’s false beliefs if it makes them feel better about themselves.

As of publication, DVUSD has been reported to the U.S. Department of Education and, possibly as a result, Highland Lakes removed several DEI/SEL resources from its website. Internet archives reveal the school was previously linked to Ben’s Bells lesson on “The Important of Intentional Kindness,” the PBIS “Positive Behavior Support Systems,” and “Harmony SEL.”

DVUSD residents should contact board members to express their concerns. If these unlawful practices continue, submit an investigation request to the U.S. Department of Education.

GPS staged a mock gay wedding for Q and U

In 2023, female employees at Val Vista Lakes Elementary in Gilbert Public Schools performed a peculiar wedding for 5-year-olds. AZ Free News said Val Vista teachers and administrations put on the show to teach the children how “u” always follows “q” in English spelling. Not In Our Schools wrote:

While this kindergarten lesson may have been prepared with no harm intended, the scenario will confuse the children. As they see commercials, athletes, their teachers and others playing house with the same sex or removing organs to pretend to be the opposite sex, these ideas will be normalized…Children can’t unsee these images.

It’s questionable whether these employees copied their grooming techniques from Kinder Craze. Thankfully, community outrage in Gilbert was strong enough to ward off a repeat event…as far as we know.

GPS students also have access to LGBT-themed books on campus. The following is not an exhaustive list of what’s available in high school libraries:

Adults in Arizona are ravaging the children

Grooming, assaulting, and penetrating children (along with shameful cover ups) is such an epidemic in Arizona that lawmakers passed Senate Bill 1585 with bipartisan support (and Hobbs signed it into law!).

SB 1585 is an amendment to Arizona Revised Statute 13-705, which dictates sentencing for sex crimes against children. Our friends over at Arizona’s Family can explain it better than me, but the new law essentially helps convict criminals more easily when police officers pose as minors to catch predators.

Another amendment, House Bill 2112, was passed and signed by Hobbs. This law requires age verification on pornography websites and forces online platforms to moderate sexual content involving minors. In some respects, this will help curb child sex trafficking and give parents legal recourse against non-compliant companies. But it’s not enough.

Spending one’s natural life in prison for child exploitation, as covered in A.R.S. 13-705, is not enough. In my opinion, most sex crimes against children should be punishable by chemical and physical castration and death by firing squads.

God is the moral authority on human sexuality

Human sexuality, sex and marriage were God’s idea first. When creating male and female (Gen. 1:27), He brilliantly designed our bodies to enjoy sex. His one rule is that these pleasurable experiences be constricted to a union He defined as one husband and one wife. In fact, the Bible only describes male-female relationships in three categories: martial, familial, and neighborly.

There’s not even a single passage on “dating” in Scripture, so we should all tread lightly and avoid sleeping with people we’re not married to. Heterosexual fornication is as much sin as homosexuality. There are no free passes on sexual morality. If you’re offended by that, take it up with God.

If you’re an adult, no one can stop you from living your life. But the ones who think it’s okay to use children as props in mock wedding skits have serious issues and they deserve to be called out. These ceremonies are not appropriate for minors—it doesn’t matter whether the union is between heterosexuals, homosexuals, or transsexuals. It’s wrong and it needs to stop. Call me a right-wing, religious fanatic, prude, or whatever else you want. You’ll never call me a pedophile.

For those determined to show leniency to school districts hosting rainbow celebrations and supplying innocent children with pornographic library books, I’ll leave you with that infamous ode from the San Francisco Gay Men’s Choir.

American Patriots believe in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. No one should be compelled to oppose their sincerely held beliefs, no matter how silly they may be. Freedom of speech is graciously bestowed upon the wise and the imbecile. It is the latter who scorn liberty and mock our institutions.

Chandler Unified School District (CUSD)

On April 17, 2025, AZ Free News exposed CUSD board president Patti Serrano, who refused to recite the Pledge of Allegiance during a school board meeting. Video footage (below) shows Serrano standing, hand-over-heart, lips unmoving. CUSD residents say this is a persistent pattern of distasteful behavior.

According to AZ Free News, “Serrano’s refusal to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance aligns with her other progressive values: legalizing abortion, increasing gun control, advancing LGBTQ+ ideologies in minors, and supporting Islamic terrorist groups aligned with Palestine.” The article also said Serrano took her oath of office with her hand on the book “Life is a Banquet” instead of a traditional Bible.

What cause did Serrano swear to uphold in place of the U.S. Constitution? After that infamous Pledge of Allegiance, Serrano appears to bow her head in invocation. Since she doesn’t believe in God, who exactly is she praying to? These questions should alarm every CUSD parent and constituent who upholds the rule of law. The answers would be irrelevant if Serrano resigned from public office.

Phoenix Elementary School District (PESD)

PESD—the same district where former board member Jessica Bueno used personal property as collateral to bail out a convicted child sex offender—is home to leftist activist Alicia Vink.

Vink proudly backs the district’s Black Lives Matter Resolution in honor of the deceased convicted felon George Floyd. She has also worn cat ears in support of anti-Christian board members in the Washington Elementary School District (more on that later).

Vink was determined to make a fool of herself at the April 8, 2025, school board meeting when she announced:

Watch her childish speech below.

Vink declared that she “would not stand for any behavior that puts our kids at risk” as she proceeded to poison the mind of every student who attended or watched the meeting. Her self-serving antics are an embarrassment to all Arizonans and will only continue to drive families away from this failing institution.

PESD would be better off without Vink’s presence on the school board.

Washington Elementary School District (WESD)

In 2023, the WESD governing board voted 5-0 to terminate an 11-year student-teaching partnership with Arizona Christian University. WESD board member Tamillia Valenzuela took charge by removing the agreement from the consent agenda, claiming that ACU’s core beliefs on biblical marriage made gender-confused people feel “unsafe.”

Her sentiments were echoed by former board member Nikkie Whaley—who spewed racist remarks at her colleagues alongside Valenzuela—and current board members Kyle Clayton, Jenni Abbott, and Lindsey Peterson. Since Valenzuela, Clayton, and Abbott identify as LGBTQ, it’s understandable that they would reject high standards of sexual morality.

In July 2022, Whaley, Abbott, Peterson, and current (re-elected) board member Bill Adams voted in favor of an LGBTQ Resolution for elementary students. Adults who promote and celebrate multiple sexual identities in children bring shame and disgrace upon civilized societies. Note that during the ACU discussion, Valenzuela cited this resolution as just cause for discriminating against Christians.

Valenzuela, also known as “Cat Ears” among community members, never stands to face the American Flag or recite the Pledge during school board meetings. However, she does take ownership in reading a land acknowledgement to shame Glendale and Phoenix residents with no connection to events that may have occurred over 500 years ago. If you attend a WESD board meeting, you may even catch Valenzuela wearing house slippers and stuffing her face with snacks while everyone performs the opening exercises.

Where are all the Patriots hiding?

The Founders (any 18th-century American, really) would be appalled by our present generation of so-called Patriots. We have the meanest cell phone and keyboard warriors across the Valley who won’t attend a board meeting, not even when something goes horribly wrong. Rather than proactively defend our youth, most constituents retreat to their echo chambers of digital outrage. I’m a member of several Facebook groups wherein parents devour each other while raging against board members, administrators, educators, and staff. This isn’t doing your kids any good.

Parents pay attention! Voters take notes! The issues in Arizona’s public education system must be confronted head-on.

In 2026, Serrano’s term in CUSD and Valenzuela’s and Clayton’s terms in WESD will end. Vink (who ran on an “Equity” platform in 2020) retained her seat, so residents are stuck with her until 2028. Still, two seats will open in PESD in 2026. According to Ballotpedia, the 2024 general elections were canceled for PESD due to a lack of opposition. The school board also gained a new member who never appeared on the ballot. There is no reason this should happen again.

I defy the card-carrying tactics and rhetoric of Patti Serrano, Alicia Vink, and Tamillia Valenzuela. For all of its faults, the United States remains the greatest place on earth. Anyone who hates living here can renounce their citizenship and get out. I’m sure President Trump would gift these clowns a one-way ticket to North Korea, Russia, China, or whatever communist country makes them feel at home.

Do Arizonans want to keep taking chances on communist sympathizers and social justice zealots controlling their children’s education? Out of 5 million residents in the Greater Phoenix Area, is no one else willing to publicly defend biblical principles, fight for conservative values, and uphold the U.S. Constitution?

It’s time we raise our standards and expectations of school district leadership. If we don’t, what hope does the next generation have?

Many Americans believe the Supreme Court rulings on Engel v. Vitale (1962) and Abington School District v. Schempp (1963)—landmark cases banning prayer and Bible reading from public schools—effectively removed all forms of religious activity during educational hours.

As a result of these decisions, and the incessant drumming of “separation of church and state,” mainstream society now considers it unconstitutional to read Scripture or bow one’s head on government property. Every generation since 1963 has gone along with this diabolical rhetoric that blatantly violates the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:

Truly, the progressive left succeeded in its efforts to (morally) overthrow the United States.

At issue, in 1962, was a nondenominational prayer recited alongside the Pledge of Allegiance in K-12 schools:

These 22 words pose no threat to anyone’s sincerely held beliefs. Although prayer was a standard part of every school day before 1962, students and staff members were not mandated to participate in the invocation. Nevertheless, anti-God activists have always deemed public prayer—that is, calling upon a higher power than government—an act that goes against the First Amendment. So, under the guise of nondiscrimination, several state laws were amended to abolish religious activities in public schools and bar educators from sharing their faith.

Don’t misunderstand what’s really at play. The false “church and state” narrative as well as the prohibition of Scripture and prayer are all aimed at one religion: Christianity. The progressive left wasn’t hellbent on expelling every god from mainstream society—they specifically intended to eliminate the God of the Bible (namely Jesus Christ) and silence His followers. Once God and Christianity were declared unlawful on school grounds, an alternative moral/religious code came into effect.

In the 1961 case of Torcaso v. Watson—just one year before God and prayer were banned from public education—the Supreme Court asserted that “secular humanism” (a form of atheism) was a religion fully protected by the First Amendment. If you will, the religion of unbelief is now considered to be legally and morally on par with Christianity. Yet only the former is allowed in public schools.

Of course, parents don’t recognize that their children are absorbing secular humanism because the doctrine is masked by minimal education requirements. Secular humanism is bright red lipstick on a filthy pig. If your child’s K-12 school requires a class or an assignment in the following subject areas, they’ve likely been indoctrinated with secular humanist dogma:

• Evolutionary Theory—secular Creation Story

• Social Studies—secular civil code (falsely teaches America is a democracy instead of a Constitutional Republic founded on Judeo-Christian principles)

• Ethnic Studies—secular race relations (includes Critical Race Theory)

• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion—secular ethics

• LGBTQ—secular human sexuality

• Social Emotional Learning—secular moral code (falsely teaches restorative justice)

God may not be permitted on school grounds, but the religion of secular humanism is alive and well.

In his 2007 book “Separation of Church and State: What the Founders Meant,” David Barton wrote:

[F]ollowing the 1962-1963 court-ordered removal of religious principles from students, teenage pregnancies immediately soared over 700 percent, with the United States recording the highest teen pregnancy rates in the industrialized world. Similarly, sexual activity among fifteen year olds skyrocketed, and sexually transmitted diseases among students ascended to previously unrecorded levels. In fact, virtually every moral measurement kept by federal cabinet-level agencies reflects the same statistical pattern: the removal of religious principles from the public sphere was accompanied by a corresponding decline in public morality.

Furthermore, consider the fact that suicide is one of the top five leading causes of death among children aged 12 to 19. Homicide among 15 to 29 year olds makes up 40% of the total number of homicides worldwide each year. There’s not enough time to discuss the increase in school mass shooting incidents over the last two decades.

Every case of teen violence and sexual deviance may not be directly linked to secular humanistic education. However, after nearly 18 years of being told you evolved from nothing, you’re a “clump of cells” with no inherent worth or purpose beyond the present moment—what reaction should we realistically expect other than rage and rebellion?

Parents choose public schools for a number of reasons, ranging from convenience to affordability to sports. And while there’s no shame in keeping certain traditions, it’s clear that America’s public education system is on the verge of total moral collapse. The emergence of “trans” activists coupled with the lack of basic social/survival skills among youths is evident. Ignorance is willful at this point.

According to Proverbs 22:6, God holds parents primarily responsible for educating their children. If we don’t want them indoctrinated with a secular humanistic worldview—one that says gender is fluid, America is systemically racist, and God is dead—then it’s time to abandon public education. This is one sure way to conserve family values, strengthen our nation’s moral foundation, and secure the freedom of future generations.

Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne and Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan have officially declared war on Arizona families. During a press conference on March, 26, 2025, someone thought it was a good idea to announce their efforts of fighting chronic absenteeism by monetarily and criminally penalizing parents.

The AZ Department of Education headline was particularly special: “Horne calls for ‘radical efforts’ to combat disastrous absentee problem.” The press release says, “Horne is urging schools to adopt measures that call for nine unexcused absences resulting in a student failing a course and five tardies continuing as an absence.”

Horne was directly quoted saying:

“[A] third of our students are missing 18 days of school or more…We have to create a motivation for parents to be sure their children go to school…if schools would adopt those kinds of policies, we would see the parents motivated and a radical drop in absenteeism. As a result of that we would see better academic results.”

Superintendent Horne, are you for real?

The “Wild West” headline from Arizona’s Family is also interesting: “How deputies are cracking down on Arizona students ditching school.” Horne reportedly claimed that “our society has gotten away from consequences” and he’s “pushing to bring discipline back to our schools.” Sheridan co-signed by asserting that absenteeism “is a crisis for the future of these kids.”

Tweedledum and Tweedledee are calling on law enforcement, the courts, and school districts to step it up. The Tweedles also want city attorneys to “treat truancy cases as a priority” and declared “any violations of state law are promptly addressed by the legal system.” It appears their minatory statements were triggered by a Helios Education Foundation slide show exposing Arizona’s colossal failure, otherwise known as government schools.

Statistics show absentee rates have “nearly doubled” since the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Helios, 15 million Arizona K-8 students are missing “approximately 18 days or more” of school during an academic year. The state defines chronic absenteeism as “missing 10% of the school year at a single school.” This doesn’t account for missing days after transferring to a new school mid-year.

During a live demonstration at the February 24, 2025, State Board of Education meeting, Helios Senior VP of Community Impact and Learning, Dr. Paul Perrault, and WestEd Senior Research Director, Dr. Lenay Dunn, highlighted data comparing chronic absences among the fortunate and “economically disadvantaged” as well as attendance disparities between racial/ethnic groups (of course). What the presentation does not show is a breakdown of absences proving the majority of cases are linked to rogue parents, as Horne and Sheridan presume.

What about homelessness? Transportation? Physical/mental health? Bullying? Youths who work to support their families? Avoiding predators employed by the district? Schools that simply fail to enforce attendance policies already in place? Since there was no mention of underlying factors, how do we know bad parenting is the main issue?

After a (ph)ishing expedition spanning five years, did researchers not speak to a single social worker (they run our schools now)? Student Resource Officers? The Department of Juvenile Corrections? Teachers? It doesn’t seem like data were pulled from anywhere outside attendance records. In fact, immediately following the presentation, the first question from board member Dr. Daniel Corr was, “Why are [students] absent? Do we know?”

Dr. Perrault said there are no “silver bullets” and proceeded to meander in such a way that I believe, prior to this moment, no one in the state department thought to ask the question. Dr. Dunn clarified my assumptions by stating, “[T]hat was not part of this research because we were just looking at statewide numbers. It would be really interesting and good to drill down to district level or school level to identify that.”

So, what problem is the nanny state really trying to solve?

Could it be President Trump’s Executive Order abolishing a certain department that controls a certain amount of money is what started this fire? Chronic absenteeism has been a problem for a while, so why the sudden tyrannical rhetoric from Horne and Sheridan?

Dr. Perrault said one goal derived from the Chronic Absentee Task Force recommendations is “collecting actionable data to identify challenges and drive solutions.” What does this flagrantly ambiguous statement mean? Why not plainly tell the public what and how data will be acquired? Will families even know data collection/reporting is happening? As it stands, Horne and Sheridan have already identified parents as the challenge, and the driving solution is to slap them with fines and misdemeanor charges.

The second task force goal is to revisit Arizona’s definition of chronic absenteeism and examine how to capture data when students transfer schools. Now that these unelected bureaucrats know they have the power to forge changes through the Department of Education instead of going through the legislative process, Dr. Perrault said they’re “mov[ing] toward a better way to collect chronic absenteeism data.”

Did you know the DOE was conceived more than 110 years before the Carter administration founded it in 1979? History records President Andrew Jackson signing legislation to establish the Department of Education in 1867. Guess what the Department’s primary function was: “To collect information and statistics about America’s schools. However, due to concern that the Department would exercise too much control over local schools, it was demoted to an Officer of Education in 1868.”

And there you have it. For all intents and purposes, Helios, WestEd, Horne, and Sheridan are “just doing their job.”

Horne reacted to the presentation by declaring chronic absenteeism was, in his mind, “a real catastrophe and emergency for our state.”

You know what else is a real catastrophe and emergency for Arizonans?

We’re squandering multiple millions and billions of dollars, tax-year after tax-year, on an education system that consistently ranks at the bottom. Arizona spends the most per student while producing the highest number of illiterate, math- and English-deficient citizens in the whole United States. We’re not adequately serving students who do show up. Why is there no outrage or press conference about this?

There are a number of ways Arizona could approach chronic absenteeism, but the state chose to lead with putting the squeeze on parents. The Tweedles should have listened to wisdom from AZ State Board of Education Member & Cochise County School Superintendent, Dr. Jacqui Clay, who said:

“[T]he big question is why. I always believe in getting to the root of the fruit and not reacting to the fruit because that’s not going to help anything. So, what’s the reasoning?...We need to start looking at the root of the fruit of all of our problems before we start actually hitting on what we see. So, if we could find out, somehow, the why before we act, that would be exponentially great and, I believe, a good strategy.”

State representatives should be thanking the hardworking parents who still entrust their children to this wasteful, rainbow-infested, predator-backing rat maze. The truth is, our public education system is a dumpster fire. Chronic absenteeism is a symptom of much deeper issues and nothing shy of bankrupting, dismantling, and obliterating this corrupt institution will fix the problem. Nevertheless, may Arizona continue to be a beacon of hope and light for parents' choice in education.

Horne and Sheridan’s language is crass, especially coming from those with an “R” behind their name. One can easily discern that collecting actionable data to identify challenges and drive solutions is the opening of a state-control floodgate. Arizona parents better familiarize themselves with A.R.S. 15-802 and A.R.S. 1-602. Scrutinize every scrap of education legislation coming out of the AZ House of Representatives and be ready for action. When you know your rights, you can defend your rights.

Parents: if you already believe your voices are being silenced and your authority is overthrown by public education proponents, you haven’t seen anything yet. It would be better to have never enrolled your children in government schools at all. I hate to be the one who says, “I told you so.”

EAST VALLEY

Mesa Public Schools (MPS)

Every February, MPS (with a black student population below 5%) and the Mesa Education Association host BLM at School Week of Action. In 2024, I chastised the district for imposing racist doctrines on K-12 students. MEA’s 2025 celebration went off without a hitch. This is TRASH:

Under no circumstances should any child learn this damned Marxist propaganda. This cesspool of racial segregation and perversion is immoral and illegal. I hope student enrollment continues to plummet and the good teachers find better organizations to partner with.

Chandler Unified School District (CUSD)

CUSD is a dark place (no pun intended) where ethno-enthusiasts thrive. The “CUSD Equity” Twitter page is dedicated to celebrating black, brown, Indigenous, and disabled people (some good things are buried under DIE/SEL). If you’re straight, white, with no physical or mental disabilities, you may not have a heritage. <insert crying emoji>

CUSD’s Black Student Union step team performed at a board meeting in February 2024. The poor dears couldn’t dance to save their lives, yet they declared, “We are black excellence!” I don’t understand this interpretation of black/African American culture. ICYMI, they entered the board room singing the Black National Anthem—a ditty for the 1900s, not today. Watch here as the dignified black man stands up, eyeballing the clueless, mostly white crowd. The whole scene was patronizing to me.

Besides using the word “equitable” to define equity, CUSD’s Educational Equity statement “Acknowledge[s] that structures and systems exist which may deprive students of equitable educational opportunities.” (Note: The “structures and systems” are unnamed.) One of CUSD’s “Action Steps/Pathways” to equity includes “Utiliz[ing] data from perception surveys to improve the culture of inclusion.” (Sounds like profiling to me.)

*I don’t know newly elected Board Member Ryan Heap, but he seems to genuinely care about CUSD. Parents/taxpayers should approach him with an open mind.

WEST VALLEY

Peoria Unified School District (PUSD)

Between 2021 and 2022, someone reported PUSD to the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) for alleged racial harassment after a teacher touched a black girl’s hair. In response to OCR’s reprimand, PUSD agreed to implement a 15-page resolution (a checklist of sorts) that included “anti-harassment” declarations and commitments to train staff and students.

PUSD doubled down and promoted DIE/SEL district-wide under the guise of “professional development.” All board members, except current Board President Heather Rooks, continued voting in favor of CRT-based training conferences throughout 2023 and 2024. Despite having a conservative majority on the school board, the pattern is repeating itself in 2025. On February 27, Rooks and Board Member Janelle Bowles voted against a taxpayer-funded staff retreat in Las Vegas—featuring DIE/SEL sessions—that will soon come to Tucson.

Rooks said she voted “nay” to spending $10,000 on staff travel for a conference that’s offered in Arizona. Bowles pointed to President Trump’s Executive Order banning toxic, racist doctrines (my words) from K-12 institutions. When I asked Tobey why he voted “yea,” he said “a few sessions may touch on” DIE/SEL, but that “doesn’t negate the whole conference.” He could not cite data showing the academic benefits of these trainings or specify what disciplinary action would result from violating a signed attestation.

DEER VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (DVUSD)

I recently covered this district in a previous post. Suffice to say, DVUSD is anticipating a wave of student enrollment growth that I pray never happens. The less children are exposed to this mess, the better.

In 2023, concerned citizens objected the board’s vote to adopt a highly suspicious ELA curriculum with DIE content. Ultimately, constituents were ignored for only speaking up the first time the topic appeared on the agenda. Soooo…race-based writing prompts are morally justified if no one repeatedly opposes them? (Hint: DVUSD Board President Paul Carver knows the answer).

Parental concerns resurfaced with a vengeance following the board’s approval of the General Statement of Assurance for Fiscal Year 2025-26. This “assurance” contradicts the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan—which directly violates Executive Orders to eliminate race ideology. Soooo…does President Trump need to attend the next board meeting and make a public comment before DIE/SEL is removed?

Echoing AZ Women of Action, I will add, “It’s a shame that any [CONSERVATIVE-led] school district would incorporate DEI.”

*Board President Carver needs to do better representing the conservatives who elected him. The “silent majority” is the only reason you’re in power.

VARYING DEGREES OF BRAINWASHING

There are varying degrees of DIE/SEL brainwashing across the Valley—right, left, and center. I never thought I’d see the day when the DOE did more than local school boards to remove DIE/SEL from our education system. Consider the strongly worded letter from the DOE Acting Assistant Secretary.

Educational institutions have toxically indoctrinated students with the false premise that the United States is built upon ‘systemic and structural racism’ and advanced discriminatory policies and practices. Proponents of these discriminatory practices have attempted to justify them…under the banner of ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion,’ smuggling racial stereotypes and explicit race-consciousness into everyday training, programming, and discipline.

Maricopa County Superintendent Shelli Boggs also issued a letter notifying school districts of their legal obligation to comply with Executive Orders and drop DIE/SEL policies. It’s time to blow the whistle on Arizona districts that are not actively working to eliminate DIE/SEL. Call them, email them, visit them. If board members and administrators refuse to make changes or follow the law, report them using THIS LINK.
